A lovely group of ladies came to visit me at Mission Regional Medical Center (MRMC) on Thursday, March 3. Under the “leadership” of Ann Scott, activity director at Seven Oaks Resort, these industrious women delivered beautiful, hand-knit baby blankets, caps and booties for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, as well as coloring books and crayons for Pediatrics. When asked what brought them to the hospital, Ann explained she had seen our “Wish List” for The Foundation @ MRMC online at http://www.welcomehomergv.com/.
We are so happy to have Welcome Home, RGV! Thank you for sharing our needs in the nonprofit community with so many civic-minded seniors. We are grateful they have the time, talent and resources to share with organizations such as ours.
Ann, Barbara, Carlene and Karen enjoyed their tour of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and have already scheduled another Seven Oaks baby shower for next year, when they return. In fact, I hear at least one of them plans to volunteer at the hospital and become one of our ‘NICU Nanas’. If you have Converted Texans with time on their hands—or some simply wishing to escape the heat of the summer—we would love to have them join our Auxiliary and “work” with us. The benefits are exceptional!
Many thanks to Ann and the ladies; and to Welcome Home, RGV. We appreciate all you contribute to the quality of life in our community, across all age groups.
Yours truly,
Marianna Treviño Wright
