(Mission, TX) The Foundation at Mission Regional Medical Center announced today that Colonial Life is the $10,000 ‘Inspired Original’ sponsor of the 3rd Annual Legacy Gala. Mrs. Yvonne Salinas, President of the Board of Trustees, graciously accepted this donation from licensed independent agent, Mr. Joe Salazar of Colonial Life.
“On behalf of Colonial Life, I am honored to support The Foundation, and the Legacy Gala,” stated Salazar. “Collaborating with local nonprofits to provide access to healthcare for the uninsured and underinsured, and helping ensure that major medical facilities can offer premier services, is a priority for me personally, as well as Colonial Life. We are pleased to assist The Foundation at Mission Regional Medical Center in caring for the most vulnerable members of our community through their state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.”
“Mission Regional also houses and operates South Texas’ only 24/7, dedicated NICU Transport Team,” explained Salinas. “This ‘rapid response’ team of highly trained respiratory therapists and nurses provides transportation to critically ill infants in need of care at our hospital, as well as transportation to other acute care facilities as far away as Dallas.
“We are truly grateful to Mr. Salazar, and to Colonial Life, for their generous contribution to The Foundation at Mission Regional Medical Center,” stated Salinas. “This contribution, along with those from all of our committed sponsors, allows us to continue to serve residents of Hidalgo and Starr Counties with quality maternity and children’s healthcare services. Because we are here to help children and families grow in well being, the gifts we receive represent a real investment in future strength of these communities.”
Mission Regional Medical Center is Five-Star Rated for Clinical Excellence in Maternity Care by HealthGrades, the nation’s leading independent healthcare ratings company. Results of HealthGrades’ study of 12.5 million hospital delivery and neonate records, from over 1440 hospitals, place Mission Regional Medical Center in the Top 5 percent in the nation for maternity care services.
The theme of this year’s Legacy Gala is ‘Art & Soul’, and features twenty original, inspired works donated by area artists who have chosen to participate in the inaugural Legacy Art Project. This annual fundraising event is open to the public. Tickets and tables may be purchased online through Special Events at www.thefoundationatmrmc.org, or by calling The Foundation at 323-1102.
